PARTNERS IN THE GOSPEL
Question of the Week
This week's question:
As part of the Partners in the Gospel journey, one of the biggest questions I often heapeople ask is: What are the benefits of combining our parishes? Can you help speak to this?
Response:
At its heart, this movement is about strengthening our mission and making the most of the gifts we already have across our parish family.
By bringing our parishes closer together, we can
share staff and resources more effectively. Instead of working in separate silos, our teams can collaborate, support one another, and focus their time and energy where it is most needed. This allows us to serve parishioners more consistently and efficiently across all locations.
There are also powerful opportunities in
combining outreach ministries. Each parish brings unique strengths, relationships, and experiences. When we work together, we can expand our impact, serve more people in need, and create a stronger, more visible presence of Christ’s love in our wider community.
Coming together also opens the door to
richer parish life and faith formation. With a larger community, we can offer more programs, small groups, and opportunities for connection. Whether it’s youth ministry, adult faith formation, or social gatherings, a unified parish family allows us to grow in faith together in new and meaningful ways.
Finally, this transition helps ensure the
long-term sustainability of our parish community. By sharing responsibilities and planning together, we are building a strong foundation for the future—one that allows our Catholic faith to continue to thrive for generations to come.
This is not about losing what makes each parish special. It’s about bringing those gifts together to create something even stronger—one parish family, united in faith, mission, and community.
Curious where we are in the Partners in the Gospel process? Each week, we’ll highlight a question and give a clear, current answer. Have a question you’d like us to cover? Send it our way, and we’ll feature it in an upcoming update.
